“Working with data and putting the logistical puzzle together is what I enjoy most about my position as Operational Site Manager at Klaer,” says Omar Shahin. At Klaer, a green energy system is in always good hands. Omar makes sure of that. “The work of an Operational Site Manager starts when a systeem is delivered. From that point on, I make sure the energy system performs optimally. How I do that? By constantly monitoring assets for faults and checking whether an asset is performing optimally. If it’s not performing according to plan, it is my job to find out where the fault is coming from and to solve it.”
“Online, I monitor the performance of the system, but if something on the site breaks down that I can fix, I go to an asset myself. If I know in advance that I cannot solve a malfunction myself, I send a subcontractor to the asset. By performing preventive or predictive maintenance on the systems, we avoid unnecessary downtime of the systems.”
“Besides monitoring energy systems, I also deal with reporting to the asset owners and stakeholders. For them, I calculate KPIs and keep track of whether we are living up to them. I also calculate how a park should run. This position is perfect for you if you love working with data.”
As an Operational Site Manager, you and your colleagues are responsible for keeping the more than 30 assets under our management 100% healthy. You coordinate subcontractors and monitor the quality of a maintenance party’s services. You will also be responsible for periodic analyses on yield, performance ratios and recurring breakdowns. Together with Omar you keep Klaer’s assets in top technical condition. But you will also work a lot together with Cees, the Technical Site Manager.
