Over the past 13 years, Swiss investment advisers re:cap global investors ag have been managing and expanding a comprehensive, international sustainability portfolio on behalf of institutional investors. For some time now, re:cap has been working with Klaer on commercial – and now also technical – management services and maintenance of solar parks in the Netherlands.
Have a chat with our experts.
re:cap has solar farms and offshore wind farms in eight countries, most notably Germany, the UK, France and the Netherlands. The parks range in size from 7 to 30 MWp, totalling around 150 MWp
For re:cap, Klaer literally takes care of everything: daily correspondence, payments, filing, accounting… you name it. Their collaboration has recently been extended to the technical management of four parks.
Thomas Staudinger, re:cap’s COO/CLO: “For us, it’s about the scope of service, quality of business processes, the commitment of people and operational results. If all that is in balance, the end result is always good.”
re:cap says: ‘it’s about the entire value chain’
In particular, re:cap was looking for a service partner that can serve the entire value chain, i.e. commercial, technical management and maintenance. Klaer and re:cap are committed to synchronising and scaling up collaboration where possible. The streamlining process mainly involves aligning IT systems for accounting and online data monitoring from the sites’ converters.
Why?
Staudinger: “When it came to selecting a service partner within the Dutch market, we focused on parties with sound, in-depth expertise in technical and commercial management and a broad network in the Dutch PV market. The two sides share the same professional approach.”
Expansion into technical management services and maintenance
“We are now expanding the collaboration to technical management services and maintenance for some of our assets. On-site technical services are especially important to us. Our contacts at Klaer don’t just sit at computers all day. They’re active in the field and they know what’s going on and they’re aware of the situation on site.
Since Klaer manages an extensive portfolio – including other owners – they answer out questions quickly. After all, they’ve probably seen it all before. Contact with the grid operator, landowners and local authorities is also important. That local presence gives us peace of mind in our collaboration,” says Staudinger.
“Good service, good processes, involvement, and passion from the people and their work. As a result, the outcome is almost always good.”Thomas Staudinger COO/CLO re:cap
